At least 10 operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) have been reportedly killed in the town of Arepo, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State on Wednesday.
According to a report by THISDAY, the DSS operatives were killed in a gun battle with vandals, who burst a pipeline belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and were siphoning fuel from it when the security personnel stormed the area.
The report starts that the bodies of the operatives were seen littering the area after the gun battle.
The DSS have reportedly sought for back-up from Armed Forces regiments stationed in Lagos state.
It will be recalled that two DSS operatives were on Tuesday allegedly killed in Ishawo area of Ikorodu in Lagos state by armed vandals when the operatives allegedly tried to prevent them from siphoning petroleum products from an NNPC pipeline in the area.
