The Department of State Services (DSS) has released the former National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh.
Umeh was released on Friday, having being arrested at his country home in Aguluzigbo in Anambra State on Thursday, over suspected links with the pro-Biafra group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
After his arrest for allegedly sponsoring IPOB, he was taken to Abuja to be interrogated.
He was subsequently freed on Friday morning.
Umeh’s release was confirmed by Chief Jerry Obasi, the party’s Deputy Secretary, who had earlier alleged that the ex-party chairman’s arrest was politically motivated.
