Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, has been continuously fed by the federal government with about N164.5 million since his detention by the Department of State Services in 2015.
This was disclosed by the PUNCH news in its publication on Monday, January 6. According to the report, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, disclosed in 2018 that the Federal Government spent a total of N3.5m for the monthly feeding and security for El-Zakzaky.
However, despite the fact that the Shi’ite leader, has been transferred from DSS detention to the correctional centre in Abuja, the Federal government still use a large amount of taxpayers money to continuously feed El-Zakzaky and his wife, who is also in custody.
