2 Min Read

Nigerian rapper and hip hop act, Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Olamide ‘Badoo’ has opened up on why he never completed his education.

The singer whose latest song, ‘Wo’ has been a source of controversy online revealed that he was forced to drop out of school when his parents could no longer afford his tuition.

The singer however revealed that he was able to achieve all that he has so far because of hard work and dedication.

Speaking at an event held on Friday, Olamide, a special guest of honour at the Summer camp organised by the Ogun State government said commitment was one of the key factors which brought him far in life.

Olamide while speaking at the event which held at the Akin Ogunpoola Model College, Akinale, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun state said: “I am from Ogun State here, I do not joke with my culture and language, in fact, I came from a poor background. I had to drop out of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu Ode, when it was getting difficult for my parents to pay my school fees.

“However with doggedness, perseverance and hard work I was able to find myself where I am today.”

Encouraging the pupils at the camp to always strive to be different and excel in their chosen fields, the singer noted that through hard work, dedication, and commitment, the pupils can become whatever they set their heart out to achieve.
