The perpetrator, Festus Udoh tricked Miss Modupe Kawose, a 23-year-old National Youth Service Corps Student into following him to the bush where he raped and killed her.

The driving instructor was alleged to have called her on Saturday morning from Lizzy Driving School where he had met the victim, To tell her that her learner’s permit was ready and she should come and pick it up

She met him in Lafenwa, Abeokuta. From there he explained to her how he had resigned from the driving school and would take her to where the permit would be processed for her.

She was surprised but still followed. According to the Punch, Udoh explained how he then went on to commit the dastardly act; “We boarded a vehicle and later took a bike to Iberokodo, and as we alighted at a junction. She was surprised and she asked, ‘Is this where you live?’

“As we entered the bush, I said I wanted to have sex with her, she said no. I dragged her into the bush and had sex with her. She threatened to inform her family. It was at this stage that I tore her cloth and used it to strangled her, tying it around her neck.”

The Odeda Ogun state police boss. Iliyasu Ahmed where the suspect is being paraded by the police, said they were contacted by the NYSC coordinator when the corper went missing. They did a technical investigation finding out who she had last made contact with and through this were able to apprehend and arrest the suspect
