Following the death of a doctor who was reported to have jumped into the Lagos Lagoon on Sunday on his way back from church, there have been many developments most especially centered on understanding the reason behind his suicide act.
Recall that earlier reports indicated that the victim, Dr. Allwell Orji had in the past attempted to commit suicide three times.
However, hours after the deceased’s body was recovered from the lagoon and confirmed by his family, the Lagos state police commissioner, Fatai Owoseni has revealed that men of the Nigerian police will push to work with the family to dig up information on the deceased’s phone.
The move according to the police will aid in unraveling the circumstances which may have led to his suicide.
Recall that the unmarried medical doctor was reported to have alighted from his SUV with number plate LND 476 EE while on his way to Lagos Island and jumped into the lagoon on the pretext that he wanted to receive a call.
Speaking on the analysis which will be conducted on the medical doctor’s phone, the Police commissioner said: “The corpse was recovered by the Marine Police around 4pm. The police will use technical platforms to analyse his phone to investigate the suicide.”
