You Dare not Resign – Yoruba Elders tell Osinbajo

2 Min Read

The sages that constitute the Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) have warned Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo against resigning from his office despite the speculative rift between him and his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari.

Considering how the VP has been unseated from several relevant positions of authority; disbandment of Economic Management Team (EMT), Abba Kyari travelling to London to deliver a bill to Buhari and the removal of N-SIP from his office and the most recent, sacking 35 of his Aides

The warning was issued by Dr. Kunle Olajide, the YCE Secretary-General. Speaking to The Punch, Olajide on behalf of Yoruba Elders urged VP Osinbajo to keep keeping faith while admonishing President Buhari not to allow evil detractors cause him to turn his back on his Vice.

“We know like other Nigerians that there are enough signs that some people are working against Osinbajo but who the people are, I don’t know.

“It is obvious that some people are working against him and unfortunately, it appears as if Mr President is dancing to their tune.

“I will urge Mr President to remember the Vice President’s loyalty to him in the past four years, especially when he was out of the country for three months and refused to allow unguarded ambition to push him.”

According to Olajide, Yoruba Elders are not in support of Osinbajo resigning his position as VP. According to him the YCE is strongly against such advice.
