The long-time friction between Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho and French man Arsene Wenger flared up yesterday as Arsenal’s chief got trumped by Chelsea’s boss for the 12th time consecutively.
Chelsea claimed three points in the clash against Arsenal with a converted from Hazard and a glorious chip from Diego Costa, who was assisted by Fabregas.
The match heated up with repeated fouls from both team; particularly, a foul by Gary Cahill (Chelsea) on Alexis Sánchez in the first half started a clash between the coaches of both team. Arsenal boss entered into Mourinho’s technical area to influence referee Martin Atkinson’s decision on the foul and they both got physical.
After his defeat, Arsene Wenger spoke on the clash, stating that he has no regrets.
‘I don’t regret it, what is there to regret? I want to go from A to B and someone (Mourinho) confronted me before I got to B without any sign of a welcome,’ he said.
‘I trust you will all teach me the moral lessons over the next two weeks and I can accept that. I am long enough in the game to see things the right way. I don’t listen to what Mourinho says,’ he continued.
Wenger insisted that Gary Cahill should have been sent off the pitch for the bad tackle.
He said: ‘A red card for Cahill wouldn’t surprise you if you watched it again. I went to Sanchez to see how badly he was injured.
Arsenal with 10 points are currently 8th on the table while Chelsea remain on top of the league with 18 points.
