The Nigeria Police Force has assured residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja that there is no cause for alarm over police helicopters flying over the city.
According to a Public Service Announcement issued on Friday, the police say the Air-wing of the force is merely conducting aerial surveillance patrol of the FCT and adjourning cities.
The police said it is a “friendly patrol designed to strengthen the security arrangement already emplaced in our cities”.
The announcement read: “The Police Air-wing is currently carrying out aerial surveillance patrol in the FCT and the adjourning cities.
“The public is hereby informed that this is a friendly patrol designed to strengthen the security arrangement already emplaced in our cities.
“Citizens should therefore feel safe and secure as there is no cause for alarm, whatsoever.”
