Oset was speaking while delivering his exhortation at the 30th Anniversary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Kwara chapter, tagged “The New Dawn”, in Ilorin on Saturday.
He said that humans forget many things they should remember but often remember what they should forget, adding that giving thanks always is never too much.
“God is ageless, newness is the will of God. Everyday you wake up, everyday you eat or stand is a new dawn.
“Newness is constantly confronting us, but we do not know it.
“Tradition can make a man lose his opportunity for newness from God. This was what made peter lose his newness in Acts 10:9.
“Three times he rejected what God offered him, he had unbelief and was also disobedient”.
“Not knowing the day of visitation from God can also make a man lose his newness, Peter saw the food as unclean, and so he rejected it.
“Your success is determined by what God asked you to do, no one has a right to make you inferior, do not over exalt canal parameters in the church,” Oset said.
Earlier, the Deputy Governor of Kwara, Mr Kayode Alabi, congratulated the PFN, while appealing to Christians in the state to pray for the administration of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Alabi enjoined Christians to actively participate in politics in order to change the state positively.
The Special Adviser to the governor on Christian Religion, Rev. Samuel Adedayo, felicitated with the fellowship and also commended the Kwara government for the support given to the christian community.
Adedayo charged Christians to live what they profess and represent Christ in every way.
The State Chairman of PFN, Rev. Timothy Opatola, had earlier in his opening remark charged Christians to be committed to spreading the gospel.
“Friends, it is a new dawn for you this month, God is offering us a fresh start, if only we can yield to Him and let Him make us into a vessel worthy of His glory,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that also present were the wife of the deputy governor of Kwara, Mrs Adetokunbo Alabi, and the state Pastor of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Rev. John Adebiyi, among other dignitaries.
