The Tor Tiv, Prof. James Ayatse, has called on his subjects not to keep dead bodies beyond two weeks to avoid the reproach of the Tiv Traditional Council.
Ayatse made call on Saturday at Gbajimba during the burial of Mr Kwaghngu, father to Gov. Samuel Ortom’s principal aide, Mr Abraham Kwaghngu.
Represented by Chief Julius Aondoana, the Tor Gwer, the monarch announced that he would not attend any burial where such corpses stayed beyond two weeks.
On his part, Gov. Ortom regretted that some prominent Tiv people were trying to change the narrative of the security situation in the state by blaming killings on the state.
He warned such politicians to desist from the unpatriotic acts or face the wrath of Tiv Supreme Council. (NAN)
