Don’t cut corners, wait for God – Bishop Wale Oke urges Nigerians

4 Min Read

Bishop Wale Oke of Christ Life Church Worldwide, on Sunday, urged Nigerians, especially Christians, not to cut corners in life but wait for God’s time to prevail in all they do.

Oke, who is also the Prelate, Calvary Grace International College of Bishops, gave the advice in Ibadan during the consecration of Rev. Tunde Akin-Akinsanya as a bishop.

Akin-Akinsanya was consecrated as the Presiding Bishop, Communion Faith Assembly International, Abeokuta.

NAN also reports that Akin-Akinsanya is the CAN Ogun State Chairman.

The bishop remarked that “God controls times and seasons and makes everything beautiful in His time.”

According to him, the onus lies on people to hold onto God’s promises and build their lives on the word of God which will surely come to pass.

“If you build your life on God’s word, not on your fears, your success is guaranteed because His word does not fail.

“When God gives you a dream, hold on to it, one day it will surely come to pass though it may tarry,” he said.

He also urged the church not to be self dependent but depend wholly on the Holy Spirit to take over the affairs of the church.

“If we can depend wholly on the Holy Spirit and keep praying, all our challenges in Nigeria will surely be conquered,” he said.

Oke emphasised that Akin-Akinsanya’s consecration should have happened 10 years ago when he was proclaimed a Bishop-elect.

“He has since that time been functioning in the office of a Bishop, including presenting other qualified candidates to be consecrated as Bishops.

“As we consecrate him today, we authorise that his seniority be counted right from the year of his proclamation as a Bishop-elect,” he said.

Also speaking, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) National President, Rev. Samson Ayokunle, said Akin-Akinsanya had been a productive minister of God and would never disappoint Christ.

“Today’s consecration is just a formal human affirmation of what the Lord has done for you, it’s for you to bear more fruits.

“May the Lord pour His anointing upon you, may you continue to be a beloved servant of God, serving your generation to the best of your ability,” he said.

Also speaking, Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, urged religious leaders and pastors to use the pulpit to preach national unity and peace in Nigeria.

Abiodun remarked that Akin-Akinsanya was “a supportive faithful, God-fearing man who serves God diligently.”

He congratulated him and urged him to use his new office to further the gospel of Christ in Ogun State, Nigeria and across the world.

Responding, Akin-Akinsanya, expressed his profound gratitude to God for giving him the grace to witness the day.

He also appreciated his family, friends, ministers of God and the congregation for their support and prayers.

Among other dignitaries at the occasion were Mrs Bola Obasanjo, Oba Wale Ajayi, the Akarigbo of Remo, Ogun State, Pastor Femi Emmanuel, the General Overseer of Living Spring International Church. (NAN)
