Football Legend and Brazilian Star, Rivaldo known for his 2002 FIFA World Cup performance has warned tourists against visiting Brazil this summer for the Rio Olympics.
The football legend warned tourists to stay in their respective countries as the country remains unsafe even for the citizens.
The outcry came after a 17-year-old girl was shot dead in a robbery on a main road linking the city’s airport to several proposed game venues.
The young girl identified as Beatriz Pereira Frade was shot on Saturday morning by armed gang while she was heading to the airport with her family.
The 44-year-old football star posted on Instagram “I urge all of you who are planning on visiting Brazil or coming for the Olympic Games this summer to stay in your countries. You are putting your life at risk here.”
