Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage played out her surname in perfect fashion when she took to her Instagram stories to hit out at a follower who she claimed badmouthed her.

It’s not uncommon for people to abuse celebrities on Instagram or other social media platforms with the aim of getting popular through retweets or reposts. On many occasions, the celebrities fight back with abuse of their own. In a lot of cases, followers usually criticize the celebrities for retaliating usually stating that their status as celebrities means that they should be more ‘people friendly’.

In Tiwa Savage’s case, she opined that celebrities were human beings with feelings too and that abusing them and not expecting a comeback was absurd.

She took to her social media and said: “Next time you think of sliding in my DM asking for money or anything remember your personal opinion and miss me with your bs,” she said without revealing who the messages were directed at.

“Wow they beg you for money today and tomorrow talk trash because it’s not personal, they just doing their job abi… okay blocked

“Celebrities are human. You can’t beg for money then talk trash and expect me not to catch feelings.

“Like are you serious? F*** outta here with your bs.”

She also took some time to praise he ex-hubby Teebillz. She posted a throwback photo on her page which showed her before the fame and she captioned it: “Been seeing a lot of old clips of me today singing 🙈 while I cringe at how I looked in most of them 🤣🤣🤣 I love this particular one because I remember feeling lost and alone in LA at the time and was deciding on moving back to Naija 10 years ago. 3/4 years later I moved and boy it’s been an incredible journey.”
