Don’t abort the baby – Ex-DSS official pleads after impregnating daughter in Rivers

2 Min Read

A self-professed former official of the Department of State Services (DSS) said he impregnated his 14-year-old daughter because an evil spirit came upon him.

The second-clothe seller identified simply as Eromosele allegedly started sleeping with his child when she was 11 years in 2017.

However, the long arms of the law caught up with him when an official of the State Ministry of Social Welfare, Kaine Harry, alerted the police after the suspect’s daughter confided in her about her ordeal.

Eromosele was paraded by the Rivers State Police Command on Wednesday, and command spokesman, Nnamdi Omoni said he would be prosecuted for incest.

But the suspect pleaded with the government not to abort the pregnancy.

He said he was not arrested but he turned himself in because he could no longer bear the situation.

Eromosele said, “I have no reason to deny that I am responsible for what happened. It’s unfortunate, but it’s a battle I have tried to fight over the years. It seems a battle that is bigger than me.

“Even my daughter, what is involved in her too I can’t tell. It seems a kind of spiritual issue. No police came up to arrest me. I turned in myself because I felt it has become too much for me to bear.

“If my going to prison is the only way my daughter can be liberated, I am relieved. If this is the only way to liberate her, good and fine. I am relieved I can come out to speak the truth.”
