We reported here recently that Louis Van Gaal was out in the transfer market to find a suitable Left-back to complement his 3-5-2 formation and that Sporting Lisbon’s Marcos Rojo was the target.
Fast foward to some moments ago, the English side’s verified twitter account tweeted “Marcos Rojo will wear the no.5 shirt for
Manchester United.#RojoisRed” confirming the signing of the Argentine International.
Rojo, 24, came through from Sporting Lisbon for a fee of €20 million, a deal which also saw Portuguese winger Nani go back to his former club Sporting Lisbon on a season-long loan.
Expressing his delight, Rojo said: “It is such an honour to say I now play for Manchester football club in the Premier League
It’s a dream for me.”
Speaking to Manchester United TV he said: “United were always my team because they were the biggest and the best.
“I always give everything I have & leave everything out on the pitch. I play each game as if it could be my last,” he added.
