The United States president-elect, Donald J. Trump’s name has been removed from three New York buildings following the submission of a petition by residents of the apartment.
Trump whose name has been taken off his three properties in New York which was originally branded ‘Trump Palace’ was petitioned against by 600 people to have the name taken down.
The “Dump the Trump name” petition was submitted before the president-elect was announced as the winner of the US election as concerns grew about his stand on immigrants in the nation.
A week after Trump was announced as the president-elect, Equity Residential, owner of the buildings bowed to pressure and began work on taking down the name.
The building owners also informed residents via an e-mail message notified the residents that it would be taking down the gold Trump Place brand from the entrance of three New York properties located on 140, 160 and 180 Riverside Drive.
