A lawyer for US President Donald Trump’s firm has been accused of bribing a porn actress with $130,000 to keep the details of a sexual encounter between Trump and her private.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the lawyer, Michael Cohen purportedly negotiated the payment in October 2016 with Stephanie Clifford, who’s best known as “Stormy Daniels” in the porn industry.
The sexual encounter purportedly happened on a golf resort in 2006, while Trump was married to wife, Melania.
Cohen reportedly negotiated the deal with Clifford a month to the US presidential election as she was on the verge of appearing on a national TV programme to discuss the sexual encounter.
She is believed to have admitted that the incident occurred on a golf tournament in California.
“All I will say is that I ended up in his hotel room. Imagine him in his underpants running after me,” she reportedly said.
However, Trump’s White House has debunked the report, describing it as “old and recycled claims which have already been published and totally denied before the elections.”
