A woman in the United States, Allie Carter, on Saturday was lucky to escape with her life when her dog named Trigger shot her.
Ms Carter, 25, was shot in the leg on a waterfoul hunt at the Tri-Country Fish and Wildlife Area in the state of Indiana, the Associated Press quoted Indiana Conservation Officer Jonathan Boyd as saying.
She reportedly left her shotgun on the ground without the safety on and the dog unknowingly pulled the trigger by stepping on the gun.
The 12-gauge shotgun was said to have gone off at point-blank range, seriously injuring the lady in the process.
Carter reportedly suffered injuries to her foot and toes and is recuperating from the injuries.
