Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos and MacKenzie Scott parted ways after some 26 years as man and wife and billions of dollars in divorce settlement but the duo still keeps a platonic relationship.
This is according to a Forbes report released in the wake of the divorce of another billionaire couple – Bill and Melinda Gates – this year.
The report is titled, “For Richer And Richest: Inside The Billion-Dollar Marriages, Open Relationships And Bitter Divorces Of The Forbes 400”.
According to the report, Bezos and Scott, who recently re-married, are just a few among America’s billionaire couples to have maintained a platonic relationship after divorce.
The platonic relationship between Bezos and Scott, says the report is proof that “some billionaire couples are even better together once they’re apart”.
Well, the erstwhile couple gave credence to this in the statement announcing their split in 2019.
“If we had known we would separate after 25 years, we would do it all again.

“Though the labels might be different, we remain a family, and we remain cherished friends,” they said.
Despite the divorce setting him back more than $35 billion, Bezos said he was “happy and excited” when Scott married Dan Jewett, who is a science teacher at Lakeside School in Seattle, which is where Scott and Bezos’ children currently study, early this year.
Among a few other divorced billionaire couples that remain friends, the report states, are Ted Turner and Jane Fonda, who divorced after a decade of marriage, and pharmaceutical billionaire Stewart Rahr and Carol Rahr Haubner, who divorced after 43 years of marriage.
Oscar-winning actress, Fonda still calls Turner, who owns CNN, her “favourite ex-husband”, just as Stewart still says of Carol: “I love that girl.”
