A 33-metre vagina structure built on the site of a former sugar mill in Brazil has sharply divided opinions among locals in the state of Pernambuco.
The giant scarlet structure called “diva” was unveiled on Saturday.
Virtual artist Juliana Notari envisioned the 108-feet structure which was built into a hillside with the help of diggers.
She shared photos of the controversial structure before and after completion on Facebook.
However, the artwork, which is the length of eighteen men, has begun to generate heated comments since its unveiling.
One Facebook user described the artwork as one of the “stupidest things” he had ever seen in his life.
Another one queried its appropriateness for children, blaming the government for allowing such to be built in public.
“With all due respect I didn’t like it Imagine me hanging out with my little daughters in this park and they ask… daddy what is that? What will I answer?
“Didn’t think it was cool. It’s worse the government allowed this to be done in a public park,” he wrote.
However, it was not all condemnation, as some other commentators described the artwork as “amazing and beautiful”.

“I loved it! An intimate part of us exposed with such beauty. We need more such works that elevate feminism and its nuances,” one commentator said.
