A harrowing surveillance video released Friday shows music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs violently assaulting his then-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, in a Los Angeles hotel hallway back in 2016.
Obtained by CNN, the footage from the InterContinental Hotel in Century City captures a shirtless Combs chasing Ventura down the hallway before grabbing her and throwing her to the floor. The disturbing scene shows him kicking her while she’s down and throwing objects at her.
The video corroborates allegations made by Ventura in a lawsuit she filed against Combs in November 2023, accusing him of years of physical and sexual abuse. The lawsuit was settled the following day.
“The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs,” said Douglas H. Wigdor, Ventura’s attorney, in a statement. “Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”
Ventura and Combs dated on and off between 2007 and 2018. Her lawsuit detailed an incident in March 2016 where Combs became extremely intoxicated and punched her in the face. The lawsuit also claims that after Combs fell asleep,Ventura attempted to leave the hotel room, but he woke up and followed her, throwing vases at her as she ran for the elevator.
These recent developments come amid ongoing investigations into Combs. His homes were raided by Homeland Security in April as part of a possible sex-trafficking investigation. He also faces multiple lawsuits from other women alleging sexual assault and misconduct.
Combs has denied all allegations. In a recent social media post, he wrote “time tells truth.”
