The Chairman of the council, Mr Micheal Aborisade, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Otun-Ekiti.
Aborisade said that the drains must be kept clean to allow water to flow freely , especially, during the rainy season for any community to be able to curb and avert flooding.
He appealed to the residents of the various communities in the council area to abide by the council’s environmental laws and dispose their wastes properly.
“I am appealing to my people in Moba Local government Area to always practise good hygiene and ensure that they did not dump their wastes in the drains.
“We have a designated site and I appeal to our residents to use the site for disposing their wastes.
“Our environmental officers have been working tirelessly to ensure that our environments are clean to curb flooding and safe the people from contacting infectious diseases.
“It is only fair for us to assist them to achieve the desired objectives by living a healthy lifestyle,” Aborisade said.
