2 Min Read

Matthew Maffei, faces a 90-year jail sentence for sexually abusing an underage 7-year-old minor who is the daughter of one of his friends.

Matthew aka ‘Uncle Matt’ sexually assaulted the 7-year-old in front of her five-year-old brother while the parents slept in the room next door. Matthew also excreted Faeces onto her face and threatened both the children with death if they reported him.

When charged Matthew also had sexually explicit images of the victim which he shared out.

Matthew was sentenced on the 16th of January 2018 by the Honorable Judge Mitchell S. Goldberg. He pleaded guilty and was charged for manufacturing, possession, delivery and distribution of child pornography.

His sentence was the statutory maximum sentence of 90 years due to the disgusting sexual abuse of the victim.

The District Court described the acts as ‘unspeakable’ and asked the parents to assure the children that Matthew would ‘never in this lifetime be released from custody.’

The FBI along with the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office, Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and the Middleton Township, De Police Department were responsible for investigating the case.

The defendant was also hit with a lifetime supervised release, a $20,000 assessment pursuant to the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act, $5,000 in restitution, and a $400 special assessment.
