Directors can’t afford me – Omotola

2 Min Read

Veteran Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade Ekehinde who used to be one of the most prominent faces of the industry, has revealed the reason for her recent lull in movie appearances.

Just like her colleague, Jim Iyke, ‘Omosexy’ has bluntly stated that movie directors can not afford her.

“Most can’t afford me, some can’t afford what it takes to have me on set. It is a new terrain, all will balance out soon,” she said, during a question and answer session with her fans on Insta-story.

The ‘Blood Sister’ role interpreter and mother of four, further indulged her fans by answering the question of why she included ‘Omosexy’ to her name and how she dealt with people’s perception of such a sensual name.

“My husband added ‘Omosexy’ to my name. I didn’t mind what people would perceive of me because of the name. People will always fall in line with what you present ultimately,” she noted.

Married to Captain Matthew Ekehinde, and having made over 300 movie appearances, Omotola briefly returned to the big screens with an electrifying performance in the 2017 blockbuster, ‘Alter Ego’.
