The senator representing Kogi West senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Dino Melaye, has surrendered himself to police.
Melaye’s home in Maitama, Abuja has been under police siege since last Friday over alleged attempted culpable homicide against him.
The senator subsequently went into hiding after accusing the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, of plotting to kill him by lethal injection.
According to reports, Melaye surrendered at the police headquarters in Abuja in company of some lawmakers on Friday afternoon.
The lawmakers, a House member from Rivers, Boma Goodhead, and a Senator from Kogi, Atai Aidoko-Ali, and others, were said to have visited Melaye at 3pm before accompanying him to the police headquarters.
Also in the party was Melaye’s lawyer, Mike Ozekhome SAN.
