American performer, Childish Gambino whose real name is Donald Glover is in the middle of a Twitter storm after a Twitter user shared a song that did sound oddly similar to his hit single ‘This is America’
The smash hit song has 299 million views on Youtube and was the talking point in many discussions moving forward.
The video of the song was also incredibly popular and controversial as people watched and rewatched the video to gather the many meanings inside it.
But did he steal the song? A Twitter user by the name of Tyler Conway seems to think so as he wrote: LMAO so Donald Glover stole “This Is America” from some dude who got 4,000 views on YouTube in 2016
He then shared a video with the ‘This is America’ video but with the audio of another rapper called Jase Harley and it’s called American Pharoah.

Listen to this and tell me it doesn’t sound VERY SIMILAR to Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) – “This Is America”
This song is called “American Pharaoh” by Jase Harley and it came out in 2016. pic.twitter.com/Mn2HM0vlPP

The song does have certain similarities but is that enough to call ‘This is America’ a rip-off?
Donald Glover seems unconcerned by the allegations and was on hand to perform at the BET awards where he performed ‘This is America’ with Jamie Foxx.
Harley’s song didn’t get much attention and only got 4,000 views on YouTube.
