Nigeria’s leading retail bank, Diamond Bank Plc, has received yet another award from industry regulator, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for compliance in cash handling and punctuality at CBN gatherings.
The award was presented to the Bank by the Kano CBN Branch Controller, Hajiya Ameena P. Abubakar at the awards dinner recently. At the well-attended event were representatives from the banking community in Kano, representative of the Kano State government, members of the Kano Emirate council as well as CBN officials from Abuja. According to the industry regulator, Diamond Bank has over the years met the set criteria for the award, one of which includes excellent cash handling procedures with minimum shortages found in cash deposited with CBN Kano.
Commenting on the award, Head Corporate Communications, Diamond Bank Plc, Ayona Trimnell expressed the company’s delight at receiving the award, stating that the award represents recognition of the company’s devotion to always work within the ambits of the law to delight its customers. Diamond, she said, is a company committed to delivering excellent customers experience and superior shareholder value.

The CBN Branch Controller added that the yearly Award dinner seeks to identify key areas that need attention and also celebrates companies that comply with laid down procedures.
This occasion marks the fourth time Diamond Bank will come tops at the Kano CBN awards bagging the award for the second position in 2011 and first position in 2010, 2012 and 2013.
