A Nigerian lady, Zainab Aliyu, has been released from detention in Saudi Arabia, where she had been held for drug possession.
The Nigerian Mission in Saudi Arabia confirmed release of Zainab on Tuesday.
She was arrested in a Saudi Arabian airport for being in possession of Tramadol, a banned sustance, in December 2018.
At the time of her arrest, the student of Maitama Sule University, Kano travelled for Lesser Hajj.
However, investigations by Nigerian authorities showed that she was a victim of a cartel that specialised in planting drugs on unsuspecting travellers.
