Six-time Ballon D’Or winner, Lionel Messi arrived in Paris on Tuesday afternoon to finalise his two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
The deal, which also has an option of a one-year extension, is worth £25 million per year after tax, plus bonuses.
The 34-year-old also got a £25 million signing-on fee as part of the deal.
As Messi’s plane landed at Le Bourget airport, north of the capital, the club tweeted: a “new diamond in Paris”.
The French capital club has scheduled a press conference for Wednesday morning.
With the move, Messi linked up with buddy and former Barcelona teammate Neymar, with whom he shared two La Liga, three Copas del Rey, and one UCL titles.
The star ended his 21-year association with FC Barcelona on Thursday after the club announced he could not sign a new five-year deal due to La Liga regulations on club spending.
A tearful Messi bade farewell to the club during a press conference on Sunday, saying he did all he could to stay.
