Malam Ali Zoaka, the Zonal Controller of the Department of Petroleum Resources DPR, has revealed that the Department will auction 44 jerrycans containing 1,320 litres of petrol seized from black market operators in Borno State.
Zoaka further disclosed that that the seized items were handed over by officials of Nigerian Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Maiduguri.
“We have decided to auction the commodities to members of the public, while the money would be remitted to the Federal Government account.
“We have stepped up our surveillance on filling stations in the metropolis to ensure compliance and selling of all petroleum products at government approved pump prices,” he said.
Zoaka further reveales that the items were seized at various filling stations in the state capital by men of the NSCDC.
