The tussle between the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi and the Eze Ndigbo of Akure, Gregory Iloehike on Wednesday took a new turn as the Deji gave conditions for resolution of the friction between them, one of which was that the Eze must not wear a crown anymore.
He gave the conditions in Akure in a meeting with the Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, in the presence of Akure Council of Chiefs.
Gov. Mimiko had met with the Eze in his office prior to the meeting with the Oba, and Eze Iloehike reportedly denied disrespecting the Oba while appealing to the Governor to wade in with the view of resolving the crisis.
Oba Aladelusi also insisted as part of the conditions that Eze Iloehike must apologise in three national newspapers and on television.
Furthermore, the Oba said the Eze must write a letter of apology to the Oba and his Council of Chiefs.
He also said that the title of Eze Ndigbo must be replaced with a less controversial title before any truce can be called.
