Deji Falae’s Widow Demands N245M From NCAA, Associated Airlines Over Husband’s Death

2 Min Read

Ese Lynn Falae, the widow of former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Ondo state, Mr. Deji Falae, and her children have sued the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority and Associated Airlines over the death of their breadwinner in a plane crash on October 3, 2010.

Deji Falae, the son of recently-kidnapped former Secretary to the Federal Government, Chief Olu Falae, was killed after an Associated Airlines plane he was travelling in with the remains of former Governor of Ondo state, Olusegun Agagu crashed, killing all on board.

The lawsuit blamed the death of the father of three on the defendants’ wrongful acts, neglect or default.

The family is then suing the defendants for N245.5 million, being the amount they calculated the deceased would have made in the next 15 years if he had survived.

Aside Mrs. Falae, the lawsuit also listed Ayomide Falae, a 15-year-old student at Day Waterman College in Abeokuta;  Omowonuola Falae, a 13-year-old girl; and, Oreoluwa Falae, a 7-year-old pupil at Corona Schools in Lagos, as plaintiffs in the case.

The family through their lawyer, Olajide Oyewole, filed the statement of claim on behalf of the plaintiffs at a Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday.

The court however adjoined further hearing on the case till November 4, 2015.
