A former Governor of Cross River State, Clement Ebri has defended his decision to pitch tent with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said he defected to the ruling party because of his desire to gain fulfilment politically, stating that he felt he could only do that with the ruling party.
Also, while formally announcing his defection on Thursday, Ebri, who was formally with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said that he felt his integrity would be better appreciated in APC because the party is a strong advocate of integrity.
At APC, he declared, his political desires would be pursued without favouritism and bias.
Recall that few months after PDP lost at the centre, a foremost leader of the party in the state, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba (SAN), had equally defected to the APC.
While receiving Ebri into the APC, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and former APC chairman in Cross River, Pastor Usani Usani, praised his integrity and noted that the party would benefit from the ex-governor’s track record.
