Radamel Falcao is on the verge of confirming a loan move to Manchester United, according to reports.
Several sources- including El Tiempo, Colombia’s biggest paper- earlier claimed that the Monaco striker has agreed a deal to join Manchester United in a £51.3 million (65 million euros) transfer.
However, reports in England claim that it will be a loan move, with Sky Sports, the Guardian and the Tele graph all confirming that the Colombian striker would join Louis Van Gaal’s side.
The latest rumours over the weekend had suggested that Manchester City or Arsenal were the two clubs likely to land the Colombian, who was one of the best strikers in Europe for Atletico Madrid in the 2012-2013 season, but has struggled to replicate that form with Monaco.
Manchester City were set to bring in Falcao but were prevented from doing so by Financial Fair Play regulations. City are allowed a net spend of £49 million this summer and have currently racked up £24 million – so they are presently out of the race.
Arsenal may still be in the race, as are Italian champions Juventus. One thing that is for sure is that anything can happen on deadline day.
