Dawisu: Ganduje’s Aide ‘Goes Missing’ After Criticising APC Govt Over Insecurity

2 Min Read
Yakasai

Salihu Tanko Yakasai, a media aide to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, has not been seen since he left his home at 4 pm yesterday, more than 14 hours ago.

An associate of Yakasai and Ph.D. Researcher at the Salford Business School, Engr. Abba took to Twitter to break the news Saturday morning.

He stated that family, friends, and colleagues have been worried over the whereabouts of the governor’s aide better known as @dawisu on Twitter, and their fears escalated by the fact that his two phone numbers have been switched off.

“Family, friends and colleagues have been unable to locate @dawisu for at least 14 hours now, both lines of his have been unavailable since he left his home at about 4 pm yesterday.

“If you have any information regarding his whereabouts please let us know! This is URGENT!

“Thank you”

Yakasai was in the news yesterday after he lambasted the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government for failing to secure the lives and property of Nigerians.

His critical comment came after 317 schoolgirls were kidnapped from the Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Zamfara State early Friday.

He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to “deal decisively with terrorists or resign”.

Like his principal, Governor Ganduje, Yakasai is a member of APC.

He was suspended from his position in October for criticising the president’s alleged poor handling of the #EndSARS protests.

However, he was reinstated two weeks later.

The Kano State Government has yet to release an official statement on the latest incident.

Yakasai’s suspected disappearance recreates the ordeal suffered by a Kaduna-based social critic, Abubakar Idris aka Dadiyata, who has not been seen since unidentified assailants seized him from his home in Barnawa neighbourhood of Kaduna State on August 2, 2019.
