Barely three weeks after a public spat with former NFF President, Amaju Pinnick over his alleged failure to honour a $94,000 contractual agreement, Davido is in the news again over a similar issue with a business partner.
A businessman and photographer known simply as Abusalami on Instagram has accused the musician of collecting N218 million out of a total project cost of N326 million without delivering his own end of the bargain.
Abusalami made the allegation via an Instagram page which has now been taken down.
Abusalami, an alleged business partner of Davido, said he contacted the musician while seeking to promote a football development project.
According to him, the project which involved young talents in 20 different states was cancelled after many potential sponsors pulled out.
The photographer blamed Davido for the cancellation.
He said that having paid the musician in tranches for the job, which included shooting a commercial in a stadium, the Unavailable star did not present himself for the shoot, even after he requested the changing of the location to his garden.
Abusalami labelled the musician a “thief” and asked him to refund the funds collected if he would not do the job for which he was paid.
The photographer explained that he was due to make N42 million from the deal but has fallen into financial difficulty because of Davido’s alleged failure to do his own part.
Abdulsalami stated that he has camped young footballers who have been going hungry because he could not feed them.
He also shared screenshots of parts of the conversations that ensued between him, Davido and the musician’s lawyer, Bobo Ajudua over the deal.
However, Davido’s camp has not responded to the allegations.
