Nigerian superstar Davido made a bold claim in a recent interview on Sway’s Universe podcast. When asked about being part of the “African Big 3” alongside Wizkid and Burna Boy, Davido confidently replied, “I am big me.” This suggests he sees himself as the sole leader in Afrobeats.
The interview also touched on future collaborations. Davido revealed his hopes to work with Rihanna, after she reportedly named his song “Unavailable” as her favorite. “Aside Chris Brown, I’m not going to disturb myself for any other American collaboration,” he stated.
Davido further cemented his self-assured stance by claiming his song with Chris Brown, “Blow My Mind,” is the second-best Afrobeats-American collaboration ever, following only Drake and Wizkid’s “One Dance.”
