Former Manchester United manager David Moyes says he is ready to jump back into management – and he has already received calls from teams.
The Scotsman was sacked after a tough 10 months at Old Trafford last season, where he was supposed to be a long-term replacement for sir Alex Ferguson.
The 51-year-old now says that he has had enough time away from football and is prepared for his next challenge.
Moyes admits he would love a return to the Premier League but would accept a job abroad if the situation is right.
Speaking to the BBC, he said: “I’ve had several people contact me about jobs. None of them have turned round and said ‘here is a job it’s yours’.
“But people have asked me if I have had any interest in jobs. The clubs that have come calling, I just felt that they weren’t right.”
Moyes is hoping to prove his critics wrong when he does return to a job.
He understands that his reputation was tarnished during his time at Old Trafford, but fully believed that United was the right move for him when he took the job.
“I’m really ambitious,” he added. “I would never have left Everton for anybody but an ambitious football club. And I thought Manchester United would have given me that opportunity.
“It didn’t materialise that way, so I am hoping that the next club I join gives me the chance to build a team, because I think that is what I am good at.”
Moyes is heavily linked with taking over at Newcastle and West Ham, however both Alan Pardew and Sam Allardyce remain in their jobs at the respective clubs.
He has also been touted as a potential future Scotland manager in the future.
