Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck was sent to the hospital after a horrific injury sustained in the game against Sporting Lisbon.

The Gunners went into the match knowing that a win would more or less guarantee top spot in the group which in turn means a favourable draw for the round of 32.

The game ended 0-0 even though Arsenal had most of the possession and created the better chances.

Welbeck who was the hero in the last game between the two teams, had to leave the pitch in the 29th minute for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.

The injury was such that even team mate, Matteo Guendouzi looked on the verge of tears watching the Englishman being stretchered off.

It brought back memories of when Aaron Ramsey suffered a similar injury against Stoke in the Premier League many years ago.

The Gunners seem  to have had rough luck with injuries lately as Stephan Lichtsteiner also had to exit the field with an injury which looks suspiciously like a hamstring problem.

This is coupled with injuries to Hector Bellerin, Nacho Monreal and Laurent Koscielny

Arsenal face Wolves next and with this match it means they have now failed to win their last 3 games and would be hoping for a change in fortunes when they take on the impressive Wolves on Sunday.
