Dangote Fails At Businesses He Cannot Operate By Monopoly – Netizens

2 Min Read

The intrigue surrounding the recently launched Dangote Refinery and its petrochemical products has taken a new twist, even as the price war between the company and NNPCL continues to unfold.

Recently the NNPCL reduced its prices by N141 to compete with Dangote refinery price of N899 for petroleum motor spirit.

Reacting to this development, a human rights campaigner and civil activist, PidomNigeria posted on social media site, X, “The oil cabals are hell-bent on seeing that the Dangote Refinery shutdown.

Their plan is to frustrate Dangote out of the oil business through, propaganda, unnecessary regulations, and petroleum price somersaults.

If Dangote recoups his investment, he might just run away from the oil business.”

That post has since garnered close to 100k engagements.

Reacting to this, some netizens have stated that Dangote is unable to compete in the downstream sector if he is not outrightly handed a monopoly. One commentator went further to recall businesses Dangote quickly departed, since no opportunity for monopoly was present.

Ralph Edo Faluyi stated, “Oga, @AlikoDangote also needs to come out of his comfort zone and play in the market like he means business. His pricing matrix is wrong? Those who bought product from Dangote are all bleeding. U buy today & haven’t sold he crash prices tomorrow. Dangote is his own problem.”

Ishola Ayorinde posted, “What i know clearly is that Aliko has no mercy for the masses, so if the price war will impact the public positively, and price will come down, let war continue please. Monopoly cannot favour anyone.”

“You remember Dansa, dangote noodles, dangote tomato paste, anything that has to do with fierce competition, he runs. I ain’t gat no pity on him. The jungle is the Jungle.”
