A Cyprus returnee who recently accused some rogue policemen of extorting him of N292,000 in Osun State has got a refund.

He confirmed getting his money back via his Twitter handle, @St_Hiffy, which he used to raise an alarm about the extortion on Saturday.

The Herald reported at the time that the victim accused the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB) of the police in Osun of extorting him of $504 (approximately N292,000).

The complainant, who tagged several Twitter handles, including that of the acting Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, begged Nigerians to help him recover the stolen funds.

According to him, the FIB officers accosted him, his brother and father along Osogbo road and collected their personal effects, including phones and vehicle particulars.

He added that while going through his phone, the policemen saw his Binance app, a cryptocurrency trading platform, on it.

The aggrieved Nigerian said the policemen saw $800 worth of USDT, a digital currency, on the app.

He said that the USDT was meant to be transferred to his friend in Cyprus who would then convert it to euros and help him pay off his school fees but the rogue officers forced him to transfer $504 worth of it to an account they provided.

Confirming recovery of the funds, he wrote:
