The Nigeria Custom Service has retired and dismissed more than 61 officers for misconduct and corrupt practices
Some of the officers who are being interrogated were retired on an alleged case of bribery, forgery and refusal of staff order.
A total of 41 officers were investigated and exonerated, while 22 officers were issued with queries and 5 were given a written warning to check their excesses.
The inspection also exposed some top officials of the service, who were found to be guilty.
Some of these officials are of the rank of Comptroller of Customs, 3 are Deputy Comptrollers of Customs, others were 9 Assistant Controller and 9 Chief Superintendent of Customs among others.
