Following allegations of illegal foreign currency speculation levelled against her and other top officials of her husband’s government by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari has fired back at the party.
The PDP had in a series of tweets on its verified Twitter handle accused Mrs Buhari; Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu; Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau and Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, of obtaining dollars from the Central Bank of Nigeria for less than the official price of N197 to a dollar and selling it for almost double that amount later in the day.
But in a reaction through her Twitter handle, the president’s wife denied being a foreign currency dealer and accused the PDP of trying to incite the public against her person and the Federal Government.
She also vowed to sue the party if it continues its smear campaign against her person.
She tweeted…
Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari is not a dealer of forex. She has not and will never be involved in any illegal dealings.

Making false and unfounded allegations without proof just to incite Nigerians on social media is wrong.
