Cultists Kill Student in Ondo

A student of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo simply identified as Ajibade was shot dead by suspected cultists at the entrance of the institution.

Nigerian Military uncovers Militia Training Camp in Rivers State

According to the Punch Newspaper, Ajibade was killed around 6pm when he went out to buy an eggroll opposite the school gate causing pandemonium among students and residents of the area alike as they scampered for safety.

At the time of his death, Ajibade had been an ND1 student of the Federal Polytechnic.

A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the reason for the killing was still unknown, adding that it was the third within the space of one month.

The source said;

“This is how they kill themselves here in Owo; we don’t know what he did, maybe he was a cult member or they used his murder to send a message to some people.

 They killed him while he was buying eggroll opposite the school gate around a place they called Orita, and it’s not even up to two months that they killed two students.”

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer for Ondo state, Femi Joseph, said some suspects had been arrested.

“I can confirm that the incident happened; one of the cult members was killed and we have made some arrests and we have restored normalcy to the place,” he said.
