The long arm of the law has finally caught up with four members of a deadly cult gang, allegedly responsible for the beheading of two students of the Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU) in March.
On Thursday, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) paraded the suspected killers at the government house in Uhuahia.
Speaking during the parading of the suspects, the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu described the cultists as “fierce and wicked.”
“They represent everything that is evil in the society,” he said, He added that anyone capable of shooting and beheading the victim and using the head as goal posts has gone beyond human limits.
According to the state director of the DSS, Korede Kamoju, the cult members were arrested after a painstaking investigation that lasted two months. Kamoju said the suspects were members of a cult group known as Burkina Faso.
He said they planned and executed the deadly operation at Chido Lodge, an off-campus hostel where their victims lived.
The apprehended suspects are: Chikezie Macdonald (a.k.a, Walking Dutch-22ys), Chidozie Ob (a.k.a Small body-21yrs), Chukwuemeka Awom (a.k.a Arch Angel-25yrs), and Chigozie Francis Eberendu (a.k.a Star boy-23yrs)
