The Governor of Cross River State, Liyel Imoke has said that the state remains a strong hold for President Goodluck Jonathan in the coming 2015 elections.
The Governor who was the chairman of the event committee for the president’s declaration last Tuesday made this statement at Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar, on arrival from Abuja.
He said the government and the people of Cross River State are solidly behind the president’s second term ambition.
He also dismissed claims that he is defecting to All Progressives Congress, he said “there is nothing conceivable that will make me quit PDP, a party that I am not only a founding member of, but also brought the flag to the state. I will rather leave politics than quit PDP.”
He promised to continually support the President even beyond 2015 because the people believe in his transformation agenda.
