Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken out against the rape allegations that have come his way, stating that his sexual encounter with the alleged victim was consensual.
The Champions League winner has been accused of raping a woman in Las Vegas in 2009
Speaking through his lawyer, the star has stated that he did nothing wrong on the said day
“Ronaldo is forced to break his silence,” said the star’s lawyer, Peter Christiansen
“Once again, for the avoidance of doubt, Cristiano Ronaldo’s position has always been, and continues to be, that what happened in 2009 in Las Vegas was completely consensual.”

Las Vegas Police had earlier admitted that they would need to question the Juventus player and would be reopening their investigation of the incident involving Kathryn Mayorga, a former model.
The player himself has denied the incident saying: “I firmly deny the accusations being issued against me,
“Rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything that I am and believe in.”
In Mayorga’s case, she claimed that she was coerced into signing a non-disclosure agreement in which she said she’d keep the case secret.
“Cristiano Ronaldo does not deny that he agreed to conclude an agreement,” said Christiansen.
“This agreement is by no means a confession of guilt. What happened was simply that Cristiano Ronaldo merely followed the advice of his advisers in order to put an end to the insulting accusations made against him in order to avoid attempts, such as those now witnessed, to destroy a reputation built thanks to intense work, great athleticism and ethically impeccable behaviour.”
