To say Cristiano Ronaldo is a relieved man would be underselling how the striker feels after breaking his scoring duck yesterday
The striker celebrated his first Juventus goal like he’d won the World Cup, even though the goal was simply a tap in.
It was the mark of a man relieved to have finally proved doubters wrong and in typical Ronaldo fashion, he was on the scoresheet again, scoring the second goal to make it an almost perfect game.
And the relief from the Portuguese forward was evident when he faced the media.

“I’m very happy, we started well,” he told Mediaset.
“Sassuolo defend well, but we put in an intense performance and deserved to win.
“I really wanted to score these first goals and I’m happy to have found the net.
“This is football. The important thing is that the team wins. Obviously, I was a little tense with all the talk of Real Madrid and not scoring, but I thank my team-mates for supporting me throughout.
“I knew that I was working well and it was only a matter of time. I am adapting well to Italian football.”
With Ronaldo off the mark, Juventus will go into their Champions League tie with Valencia with a lot more confidence and will be hoping to get a result while the forward will hope to add to his tally.
Speaking on the Tournament, Ronaldo said: “The Champions League is my favourite tournament,
“It’s a very difficult group, we know that we can do well and Juve must focus on being the best.”
