Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis has bagged an award from Christians in Miami for defending religious freedom.
The governor disclosed this in a tweet on Friday.
DeSantis and his wife, Casey, had put in an appearance for a New Year’s Eve service tagged “Let Us Worship”, where the congregation prayed for them.

“Tonight, I was honored to receive the Defender of Freedom award at “Let Us Worship” in Miami.
“In Florida, we will protect the right to worship and won’t let anyone shut you down,” DeSantis wrote.
Speaking during the service, the Florida governor knocked his colleagues in other states that closed the doors of the churches but opened liquor stores and strip clubs.
“We stood up for your rights. We were not going to let the government take away the rights that are the gift from God not government,” he said.
DeSantis added, “That was an agenda at play. They were using this to be able to erode your rights and your liberties, and here’s the thing, they can’t take away your freedoms, they can’t take away your right to worship, to go to church, and to give thanks to God. So in Florida, you can mark it down, we’re not going to let anyone shut you down.”
